Comparing the GSA to the BX

GSA and BX

GSA and BX

The car behind my red GSA is a BX, the modell that took over after the GSA. As you can see the design has retained a some of the GSA lines, for instance the general shape of the car and the way the rear wheel is partly covered, but with a definite lean towards sharp angles and straight lines. The car is larger, with harder suspension, and is available with a larger (but conventionally water-cooled) engine, compared to the GSA. Sweden is of course known for the Volvo, which has a down-to-earth square feeling about it, and the BX could be said to be the "Volvo of Citroën" (actually, Bertone, the car designer, tried to sell the design to Volvo without success), and has been quite popular. It is unmistakably a Citroën, but still lacks some of the charm of the GSA and earlier models.
